I have limited availability, can I still work with New Verse?
New Verse has high standards for our instructors. That said, we don’t necessarily have many concrete requirements beyond being a great teacher. Formal music education is a definite plus but is not required, nor is decades of teaching experience. What we do want to see is experience working with adult students and a high level of competence not only on your instrument but in the art of teaching.
Where do we start?! First off, we do the heavy lifting. We connect you with students who otherwise would probably have never found you.
Secondly, because we have such high standards for our instructors, we think it’s only fair to compensate them accordingly. Our instructors are our lifeblood, and we pay significantly higher rates than other local private schools.
Finally, as a New Verse instructor, you are an independent contractor rather than an employee. This means that you decide when, where, and how you teach—not us.
Absolutely! We prefer to work with instructors who operate and can teach their New Verse students at their own private studios. We’ve found that most teachers are more comfortable, and therefore better teachers, when they can work in their own space. You’re also free (encouraged, actually) to take on as many students outside of New Verse as you like.
Definitely. You tell us when you want to teach and we’ll work with your schedule.
